Today's Run:
5.5 miles, 57 minutes
I woke up late this morning, so I skipped out on my normal Tuesday morning obligations. Once I dropped the Monster off at church, I headed out to a local park to get some miles in.
Let me stop here and say that my child did not want to get out of bed this morning and it was tempting to just snuggle with her in the rocking chair all morning!
The weather was just plain gorgeous this morning. It was near perfect - low 60's, low humidity. I'm not sure why, but I really struggled with the run this morning. I'm thinking I'm just a bit tired? Maybe it was because I ran right before bed last night, so it was a quick turn around?
This park is a 1.3 mile paved loop. It's got several big hills - one of them is pretty steep. I'm such a wuss about hills. I can admit it. I should really do this route more often. It's pretty close to my work - I used to pack my jogging stroller and run there with Monster when I got off of work in the mornings. This was back when she was a bitty baby and slept all the time and I could "stay up" with her all day. In fact, my first run post baby was in this park. I bet that was a sight to see. HA!
I'm still dealing with a bit of touch of a right calf strain. I've been running with compression socks or sleeves and it seems to help quite a bit. It bothered me more today than it did at all on my 12 miler last Friday. I don't think standing on that hard floor at work helps at all!
That's all for now. I have enough time to shower before I have to go pick up the squishy at the church.
Get your run on today! You'll feel better when it's over. :)
